From asking for likes to making a record

For the love of the game.

The old engagement poll belongs beside the later declaration. Both were mine.

A 2018 Story asking whether people had liked the recent post.

The earliest selected Story in this collection is a poll asking whether people had liked a recent post. It is from 2018. There is another early photograph with a little request to like and comment. I could leave those out and begin with a more impressive sentence. Keeping them feels more interesting.

They show one version of wanting to be seen: direct, playful, a little obvious. Years later, I was still posting, still trying things, still wondering what people would find entertaining. The questions had grown, but it would be too convenient to pretend attention had never mattered.

The sentence I want this place to remember.

Like my bio says, this is pure documentation and I do it for the love of the game.

I do not read that as a promise that I will never care about a response again. It is a direction: make something because I want the record to exist. A snowy day, a person I love, a thought I might revise, a clip that makes me laugh. The value is not limited to whatever happens in the first hour after posting.

The collection does not arrive in order.

These posts are old tho, im still catching up on content so bear with me.

That line is why dates here need a little care. An entry can be new while the photograph is old. A May caption can remember a late-night decision before a winter away. The year filters follow entry dates so the navigation stays concrete, while the story can explain when a memory points backward.

A documentary of a person should have room for that mess. It should also have room for a dog interrupting dinner, an outfit that felt right for a day, and a clip made because the song and the snow worked together. Not every part needs to become a lesson.

A place to leave the threads connected.

This is the reason I wanted a central place. The photographs can stay connected to the words. The thoughts can keep their dates. The personal story can lead into the learning, and the learning can point back to an actual day. I get to be more than one thing without making every visitor hunt through a feed to find the rest.

The moments in this thread.
