The camera and the moment.

I wanted to keep more of life. I also wanted to be inside it.

April 6: the next thought, about recording life, missing it, and the strange response to effort.

There is a particular frustration in having a lot you want to share and no clean answer for what kind of creator that makes you. In April, I put that frustration straight into Stories. No big conclusion. Just the thought while I was having it.

Seriously wtf i can not stay in a niche

The next line was about being too spontaneous and always in motion to fit into a specific industry or niche. Snowboarding, business, a conversation, a thought in a car: they are different subjects, but they happen to the same person. This website begins with that person instead of asking every moment to audition for one category.

Keeping the moment can change the moment.

I feel like I should just always be recording, but then i miss the moment.

The contradiction is right there. Recording gives me something to revisit and something to share. It also asks for a piece of my attention while the thing is happening. I do not have a neat rule that makes both sides disappear. I would rather leave the question visible than write a fake ending for it.

In the same Story, I was frustrated that effort and response did not seem to line up. That was my feeling at the time, not a measured rule about what works online. Sometimes the unplanned thing lands. Sometimes the thing I worked on does not. The uncertainty becomes part of making things.

Also, here is my coffee order.

Im the niche.

The next panel put a big statement beside a very ordinary detail: what I was drinking. I like that combination. It is difficult to turn yourself into a perfect abstract brand when you also interrupt the thought to describe a coffee.

The three panels do not prove I solved anything that afternoon. They show me trying to explain myself while still figuring it out. Here they can sit together, in order, with room for the next thought. That is one thing a website can offer that a disappearing Story cannot.

The moments in this thread.
